Fall Activities to Do With Your Children
I’m sure as a parent you never want to hear the words “I’m bored” again. Now, with fall here and the weather cooling down, it’s an opportunity to show your child how to have a good time! From crafts to cooking, the private schools in Orlando have a list of fun fall activities for your family! Get your child in the outdoors and take advantage of this beautiful season.
Corn Maze
Gather your family and get lost in a corn maze! Orlando has one — yes, just one! — corn maze, giving your child the opportunity to experience something so unique and fun. In fact, they are only open in October and November. For $10, you can get your child a maze day pass. Nothing says autumn like a corn maze does.
Pumpkin Ice Cream
Autumn is in the air, and our cravings for pumpkin are salivating our mouths. We’re sure your child just loves ice cream — how about some pumpkin ice cream? A simple recipe calls for just one can of pumpkin, one cup of brown sugar, one teaspoon of ground ginger, one teaspoon ground cinnamon, one teaspoon vanilla extract, and ⅛ teaspoon of ground cloves. Combine all of those fall flavors in a bowl, stir until sugar has dissolved, then freeze. Scoop it into a real pumpkin for a cute festive dish. Sprinkle with your child’s favorite toppings!
Fall-Themed Movies
It’s the most nostalgic time of the year, when people get to break out their favorite holiday- and fall-themed movies. Classics include Charlie Brown’s “It’s the Great Pumpkin” and “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.” And fall isn’t fall without Halloween movies, such as “Halloweentown” and “Hocus Pocus.” Don’t forget to indulge in bowls of candy corn, or freshly-made pumpkin ice cream.
Family Photo Shoot
Now that the weather is getting nicer, here’s your chance to get the family together for the photo shoot you’ve been wanting. Choose an outdoor location with fall scenery, and dress up in cool colors and matching flannel.
Centerpiece Gourd
Autumn isn’t autumn without arts and crafts. You can purchase succulents or plant flowers, such as sunflowers, then have your child fill up a gourd to make a beautiful arrangement. Use her new piece of art as the centerpiece at your dinner table!
Fire-Pit
It’s the time of the year when you can build a fire pit! Gather some wood and spark some fire. Make some hot chocolate, wrap yourselves in blankets, roast some marshmallows, and enjoy the nighttime breeze.
