• Ethiopia: Families gather every fall to sing songs and enjoy a large feast as part of Antrosht, which is a multi-day celebration honoring motherhood.
• The U.K.: In the early 16th century, the U.K. observed the fourth Sunday of Lent as Mothering Sunday. Families came together to attend their “mother church” for a special service.
