Bishop Moore Catholic High School’s Homecoming 2016

Bishop Moore Catholic High School’s 2016 Homecoming Week was nothing short of amazing. The themes, the games, the friendly competitions, and the crazy dress-up days kept students laughing and guessing throughout the week of October 10. The Catholic school in Orlando appreciates the effort faculty, administrators, and students put forth to make this year’s homecoming the greatest celebration to date!No Spirit Week is complete without outstanding outfits. Every day was another fashion extravaganza. While some days were more conservative, the week began with an all-out fashion nightmare as students paraded around campus for Mismatch Monday sporting clothes in stripes and plaids in colors that surely made fashion designers around the world cringe.Tuesday was a true team spirit day, with students choosing to dress as either a Disney character or a Harry Potter character. Princesses battled wizards in a game of wits with a Disney trivia game in the cafeteria. Fluffy cotton candy and Kona ice was served, and students had the opportunity to have their faces painted or caricatures drawn. The fun did not end when school was dismissed, though. Tuesday night from 5:00-7:00 was the Senior Night Social in the Student Center. This left just enough time for students to dash home and plan their Wednesday garb.Wednesday’s attire was a mixed bag as students and faculty dressed as if they were from the old west or an alien from a faraway galaxy. Choosing to dress as a cowboy or in country/western gear was “out of this world” for many students! In the cafeteria, students tipped their hats (or space helmets) to their partners as they listened to country music and chowed down on barbecue with all the fixings. Wednesday evening, students eagerly returned to campus for a team dodgeball competition where balls flew across the gym at high velocity to the delight of teammates and spectators alike. What is Thursday without a little throwback? Students and faculty dressed in the clothing reminiscent of their favorite decade. Poodle skirts mingled with punks and preps in this decade free-for-all!screen-shot-2016-11-03-at-9-41-34-amFriday was the homecoming football game – the perfect occasion to don Bishop Moore black and gold spirit gear. Hornet pride hit a record high with the pep rally in the gymnasium to cheer on the varsity team. Friday night’s game was well attended with students entering free of charge to rally their Hornets! The Homecoming queen and king we crowned. The Disney Contemporary Resort rounded out the week in spectacular style as the setting for Saturday’s homecoming dance. Guests arrived at 7:00 to the “Goin’ On Safari”-themed dance. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this perfect ending to a stunning spirit week. The Diocese of Orlando is proud of the spirit shown by Bishop Moore Catholic High School students during Spirit Week and throughout the school year.
