Finding things for your child to do at home can be difficult. You may feel as if you’ve done it all, yet she still has so much energy. Children need plenty of activity to get their energy out. All it takes is practice and routine. Here are some activities you and your child can incorporate into your schedule.

Dedicate Playtime
Just like at school, it’s important to schedule playtime. Carve out dedicated time in the day for your child to just be a child. Fifteen- to 30-minute blocks do the trick, depending on your child’s age and development. Be sure she has good toys, and limit your involvement in the process. Your child needs alone time just like you do!

Coordinate Playdates
Even in a normal time, your child craves and needs human interaction. Building relationships with her peers is just as important now as it was before and can be done simply with some online tools. Host a virtual playdate uninterrupted with adult involvement. Just let them chat and play through their computers!

Create Art
Art projects can keep your child busy for hours, and it stimulates her imagination. Allow her to be independent, handling both the setup and cleanup. Trash art is a fun way to utilize and recycle household items without having to step foot in the store. Gather recycled materials, then your child can paint them. Children love putting their artistic touches on random objects, and it’s better that it’s on trash and not the walls!

Listen to Audiobooks and Podcasts
Audiobooks take reading to a whole new level. It gives your child an appreciation for storytelling. Pinna has an endless list of audiobooks your child can listen to. Due to COVID-19 and parents are working from home, they recognized there was a need for resources. Therefore, they are currently running a special that provides an additional 30 days of free listening, which gives you 60 days free, with the promo code PINNA4KIDS.
