Peanut Butter Snack Recipes

Does your child love peanut butter? If he doesn’t have an allergy, then he will love to celebrate National Peanut Butter Day on January 24th! From the best private schools in Orlando, here’s a list of richly-peanut-buttery recipes you both can easily make! These satisfying snacks are perfect for after school. Bonus: Because peanut butter is protein-packed, it will keep your child full until dinner and you won’t have to hear him say, “I’m hungry!”

Peanut Butter Waffles
Peanut butter and waffles — two of our favorite things loaded up into one! This delicious idea is so simple that it only takes just five minutes to make. All you need is your peanut butter brand of choice, four waffles, maple syrup, chocolate syrup, and seasonal fruit. Once you’ve toasted the waffles, spread a generous amount of peanut butter on each one. Then, have your child stack the waffles on top of each other. Drizzle with both the maple and chocolate syrups. Finish it off with your child’s fruit of choice. And voila!

Peanut Butter Banana Popsicles
Can you believe you can make a peanut butter banana popsicle? Simply peel the bananas and slice them in half. Coat them with peanut butter, and roll them in your child’s favorite toppings, like chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or crushed cereal. Place them on a cookie sheet that’s lined with wax paper, and then freeze for an hour or two!

Peanut Sauce
Now for the savory! Perfect for drizzling and dipping, this kid-friendly sauce is quick and easy to make. You’ll need just a few ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsweetened peanut butter (creamy)

  • 3 tablespoons unseasoned rice wine vinegar

  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce or tamari

  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil

  • 1 tablespoon honey

For the preparation, simply blend all of the ingredients with ¾ of a cup warm water until it’s smooth. Add salt to taste, if desired. The sauce can be made two weeks in advance. Just transfer to an airtight container and chill in the refrigerator.
