Summer Science Experiments
Encourage your child’s learning and curiosity this summer while keeping them active and occupied with these fun, simple science experiments! Not only can you sneak a little education into your student’s summer fun, but you can help them discover how much fun the world of science can be. Start with a Science JournalIf you plan to have your children complete more than one experiment throughout the summer, have them jot down their experiences and thoughts in a journal before and after each experiment. First, prompt them with a question related to the experiment (i.e. “What will happen when you mix water with oil?”). Encourage them to write down their own questions, reminding them that there is no such thing as a dumb question. Even questions about vocabulary — for example, the definition of density — are perfectly acceptable. After each experiment, have them go back and try to answer their questions, then research the answers to things they couldn’t find. Experiments with Water
